White Box Photography photoshoot in India

Last year we went to India for Zfriction a movie production company. The shoot was for a calendar to promote Zfriction’s stable of actors and actresses. The trip took us to Devi Garh Palace in Rajastan. The place is magnificent, an old Rajs palace that has been turned in to a Luxury 6 star hotel.

Ike shoot with the Mamiya 6×7 while I was shooting on the Canon EOS. We collaborated together on all the shots and in the end picked the best of each scene. All in all it was a great trip and we thank Harsh of Zfriction for making it happen.

PCCW International Data Roaming = Highway Robbery

Filed under: General — admin @ 11:55 pm

So I just got my phone bill for my one week trip to Thailand, yes the Thailand just over there, 3 hours flight away… Get this HK$7656… the culprit DATA ROAMING CHARGES… How much data you ask only 5.4MB… PCCW charge hk$.14 per KILOBYTE so 54MB charge is over $7000.  Guess how much I paid for my airticket? Try HK$2000. So for the price of transfering 54MB which really are just little blips of electicity, I could fly to Thailand and back 3 times. Can you believe almost US$1000 to transfer 54megabytes of data, $&%*( Highway robbery. I have a good mind to not pay it, but then I would lose the phone number that i have had for 11 years and in the end I would have to pay as PCCW is everywhere and they are MONEY GRABBING

BASTARDS…

—————————— Google Text Below__________________________

This just reaffirms what I already believe about PCCW, they suck, they suck they suck.

PCCW is a crap company that robs its customers.

PCCW is a shit company that does not know good customer service.

PCCW poor service

PCCW bad reception and dropped calls

PCCW eat my shorts…

AGRHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

Digital Light Craft Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop course to be taught by Sean David Baylis

Filed under: General — admin @ 10:06 pm

Hong Kong photographer lightroom photoshop

Keith Nash the avid photographer and educator who runs Digital Light Craft has asked me to teach a weekend course on Adobe’s Photoshop and Lightroom. Over the years I have gained much experience with these ever popular photo editing programs and with time have become somewhat of an expert. My retouching skills are up there with the best in the business and without tooting my own horn too much, I would say that I am pretty bloody good, I guess this is why Keith has asked me to teach his seminar.

The course titled Post Production Workshop is set to run Nov 8 & 9th and will be taught by yours truly. So if you or your friends are interested in learning about Photoshop and Light room please sign up. I am quite looking forward to teaching this…

Bann Pantai resort in Cha-Am good very good

Filed under: My Favorite Photos — admin @ 7:40 am

This is the resort I stayed at in Cha-Am about two hours drive from
Bangkok. As mentioned it is newly opened. The poolside bungalows have
jacuzi tubs and 48″ plasma tv, while the ‘superior rooms’ have very
nicely apointed rooms with 32″ tv DVD mini fridge kettle and free
Internet, which closed the deal for me.
The staff are a friendly and courteous if a little green. One thing
the resort lacks is a decent restaurant. With breaky included in the
room rate we were subjected to their extensive breakfast menu. The
choice was American breakfast, how would u like ur eggs? Funny thing
is I asked for an Ice coffee as it is stinking hot in Thailand this
time of year and who wants hot coffee. Well they said not possible,
they had coffee, they had ice, but ice coffee they did not have… I
did not push it… They will learn when they get their first batch of
euro trash tourists…
So if u are looking for a nice stylish place to stay in Cha-am check
out the Bann Pantai resort two thumbs up from me.

Oh by the way not much to do in Cha-am but since it is actually a
fishing village town at the end of the beach road is the fishing
docks. Here u will find a gaggle of restaurants serving seafood so
fresh that yes it is still alive. They have big concrete tanks that u
go pick what u want to eat then they cook it up for u. On Wednesday
lunch had a kilo of tiger prawns with fried rice, then Thursday dinner
had another kilo of prawns, the ones with the long claws and a big
juicy crab also with fried rice. And the damage B300/kilo yep less
than $10. Very good, very very good…

And here are some food pics that will make you hungry or maybe not depending on your taste they were taken in a local village market on afternoon near Bangkok

Blogged from iPhone….

Holed up in 5 Star resort in Cha-Am near Hua Hin Thailand

Filed under: General — admin @ 7:29 am

and guess what, its bloody raining everyday and only had sun for about 3 hours this morning, but I still managed to get a sunburn, ah so hot the sun in the summer… then it started raining and I went back in the pool and played around with the underwater camera. This is one of the shots of the rain hitting the pool, taken on Canon G9 with underwater housing.

Staying in a new resort right across the road from the beach, its called Ban Paantai on Cha-Am beach its very nice just opened a few weeks ago. Its got a pool, which is why we checked in and for B2000/night its very reasonable for the quality of the place… very nice if i do say so…

The beach at Cha-Am is not so nice as the water is not clear and the beach not white sandy like you get in the south, but as it is only 2 hours south of Bangkok it suits me fine for this quick trip.

I have rented a car for the time I am here in Thailand and driving down here I was turning at a light when a guy and his girl friend tried to pass me on the right hand side as i was turning right, well he didn’t make it and the both of them are very lucky to be alive, although a little scrapped up… i took them to hospital, then their mother showed up and started demanding money to fix his motobike even thought this guy was totally in the wrong and the accident was 100% his fault, well seeing how this is THAILAND and i am just a falang, i fished out B1000 and drove off in a huff. When visiting Thailand remember that the locals look at you as a walking ATM nothing more, nothing less…
